Position Overview

The Sr Software Engineer support the development and ongoing maintenance of Adaptive's production software systems. The Sr Software Engineer works closely with project management, development leads, and QA, Automation Engineering, Lab leadership, Scrum teams by helping to design and then implement software solutions integral to Adaptive's current and future engineering road maps.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Responsible for all phases of software development including specification, design, implementation, test, deployment of software that supports Adaptive's production software systems.

Assists in troubleshooting and resolving production system issues

All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or certified Bootcamp and/or 10+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.

Extensive experience with a strongly typed object-oriented language

Extensive experience with scripting languages

Experience with relational databases

Full-stack experience with web services

Familiarity with standard software development best practices: source code control, unit testing, in-code documentation and automated build environments

Ability to work in Linux environments

Superior communication skills in a highly diverse cross-discipline environment

Preferred:

Java and Python experience

Concurrent or distributed computing experience

Experience with regulated software development

Experience with Linux applications spread across a hybrid cloud environment (AWS, Azure, collocation facility)

Experience with Next-generation sequencing data or LIMS systems

Working Conditions

Primarily work in an office environment and work from home.

Regular weekday work hours, with occasional weekend/after-hours planned or unplanned work as needed.

Some travel based on team building events and project related work

Compensation

Salary Range: $132,000 - $198,000

Possible "other compensation" elements to include:

Adaptive's posted compensation information includes a base salary (or hourly rate) range and summary of other available total compensation. The base salary range represents a minimum-to-maximum salary (or hourly rate) available to candidates upon extension of offer. Base salary is thoughtfully considered upon offer and is determined through multiple evaluation checks throughout the interview process, including: a candidate's ability to meet minimum qualifications (skills/experience/education), a candidate's ability to thoughtfully address preferred qualifications, current market conditions, and internal pay equity. Listed base salary is exclusive of bonus, commission, equity, differential pay, benefits, and other incentives.
