We're seeking an experienced Regional HSE Manager to provide strategic and operational Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) leadership across our regional business. This is a highly influential role where you'll partner with senior leaders, project teams and specialists to strengthen our safety culture, improve performance and ensure our people return home safe every day.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of HSE, you'll play a critical role in driving the implementation and continuous improvement of WSP's Health, Safety and Environment programs, systems and initiatives across your region.

You'll provide trusted advice to leaders, oversee assurance activities, support incident and injury management, and influence decision-making to embed health, safety and environmental considerations into everything we do.

This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational engagement, allowing you to make a meaningful impact across a diverse portfolio of projects and workplaces.

Support emergency preparedness planning and response activities.

Oversee injury management and return-to-work processes in collaboration with key stakeholders.

Partner with the Business

Build trusted relationships with regional leaders and project teams.

Collaborate across functions, including People, Workplace, Business Support and project delivery teams.

Facilitate the communication of HSE priorities, insights and performance trends across the business.

Assurance and Continuous Improvement

Lead field inspections, assurance activities and participation in internal and external audits.

Analyse HSE performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of WSP's HSE Management System, processes and tools.

Lead and Develop People

Mentor and support HSE practitioners and project-based HSE resources.

Build HSE capability and accountability across leaders and teams.

Foster a culture of learning, collaboration and continuous improvement.

What We'll Be Looking For

Essential

Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety, Environment or a related discipline.

Significant HSE leadership experience within engineering, construction, infrastructure, resources, industrial or similarly complex risk environments.

Strong knowledge of contemporary HSE management systems, assurance frameworks and risk management principles.

Experience leading investigations, audits, inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.

Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.

Demonstrated ability to coach leaders and build organisational capability.

Desirable

Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator qualification.

Experience working across large, geographically dispersed operations.

Experience managing small teams and developing HSE professionals.

What You'll Bring

You'll be a trusted advisor who can balance strategic thinking with practical implementation. You thrive in collaborative environments, are confident working with senior stakeholders, and bring a solutions-focused approach to complex challenges.

Most importantly, you'll share our commitment to creating safe, healthy and sustainable workplaces where people can perform at their best.

Our people enjoy access to:
