The EQ Hotel Pty Ltd
The EQ Hotel is a new luxury hotel opening in the heart of Perth. As part of our pre-opening
Engineering team, we are seeking a qualified Electrician to support the installation, maintenance,
and ongoing operation of the hotel’s electrical systems, ensuring a safe, reliable, and exceptional
environment for both guests and team members.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced tradesperson who enjoys working in a dynamic hotel
environment and contributing to a high-performing, collaborative Engineering team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and
preventative servicing of all electrical systems across the hotel. While this role requires a licensed
Electrician, duties will extend beyond electrical works to support broader engineering and
maintenance operations as required.
You will work across guest areas, back-of-house, plant rooms, and operational spaces, playing a key
role in the hotel’s safety, compliance, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out repairs, alterations, installations, and preventative maintenance on all electrical services and equipment
Maintain high and low voltage electrical distribution systems, lighting, power, and associated infrastructure
Ensure all electrical works comply with Australian Standards, WHS requirements, and statutory regulations
Support maintenance of fire protection systems, data and communication cabling, air conditioning interfaces, and general hotel plant
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive works via the property maintenance system
Accurately record all maintenance tasks, faults, and corrective actions
Liaise with the Chief Engineer and external contractors to ensure plant and equipment are maintained in optimal working order
Support general engineering duties outside of electrical trade scope where required, in line with licensing and safety requirements
Participate in a rotating shift roster, including weekends and public holidays as required

Demonstrate a strong commitment to WHS, safe work practices, and manual handling standards
Identify and report hazards, incidents, and equipment faults promptly
Use PPE and tools correctly and maintain a clean and safe work environment
Be familiar with fire, evacuation, and emergency response procedures
About You
Current Electrical Trade Qualification and valid WA Electrical Licence
Proven experience in building maintenance, engineering, or construction environments
Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or hospitality setting is highly regarded
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Physically capable of performing the role, including ladder work and manual tasks
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Service-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work a variety of shifts
