ABOUT THE ROLE

Audible's People & Places team is seeking a Senior Employee Relations (ER) & Performance Partner who will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, HR Business Partners, Legal, and employees across the global organization on workplace concerns, ER matters, performance management, and organizational risk. This role owns two interconnected functions: (1) conducting impartial workplace investigations and building scalable ER frameworks, and (2) overseeing and enhancing the company's performance management philosophy and processes. This role leverages data, analytics, and trend analysis to proactively identify emerging risks, strengthen a culture of high performance and accountability, and reduce legal, compliance, and employee experience risks.

The ideal candidate brings deep employee relations expertise and a strong point of view on what effective performance management looks like in a high-standards culture. They combine rigorous investigative capabilities with a strategic mindset - leveraging ER and performance data, workforce trends, and organizational insights to influence leadership decision-making and drive continuous improvement across the employee experience. This role reports to the Global Head of Employee Relations & Rest of World HRBP leader, within a larger HRBP, ER, and Executive Talent team.

As an Senior Employee Relations & Performance Partner you will…

Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial ER investigations into complex workplace matters

Define and evolve the company's global ER framework, policies, and standard operating procedures - establishing best-in-class approaches in areas where precedent may not yet exist

Plan and execute investigation strategies, including witness interviews, document reviews, evidence collection, credibility assessments, and investigative findings

Advise and influence senior leaders across the organization on complex ER matters, investigation outcomes, corrective actions, and broader organizational risk mitigation strategies

Oversee and continuously enhance the company's performance management framework, ensuring alignment with organizational culture, values, and high-performance standards

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and HRBPs on performance-related matters, including performance improvement processes, calibration practices, and difficult performance conversations

Partner with Amazon ER on shared frameworks and enterprise-wide ER initiatives to ensure appropriate alignment and consistency

Monitor and analyze ER data across global operations

Leverage AI tools and technology to enhance case management efficiency, streamline investigative workflows, and generate data-driven insights that inform ER and performance strategy

Develop dashboards, reports, and insights across ER and performance management that inform executive-level decision-making and drive strategic priorities

Design and implement proactive employee relations initiatives that shape organizational culture, inform leadership practices, and reduce enterprise-wide risk

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field

Knowledge of employment law and HR policies and procedures

7+ years of experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, Employment Law, Workplace Investigations, or related functions

Experience conducting complex workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and policy violations

Experience analyzing workforce and performance data and translating insights into strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders

Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, well-structured investigation reports and executive-level recommendations

Experience working within a global, multi-jurisdictional company

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree, law degree, or other specialized training/certification in ER/HR

Experience using HR analytics tools, case management systems, and workforce dashboards

Experience designing, managing, or significantly evolving performance management programs, frameworks, or processes

Demonstrated ability to operate independently with minimal direction in ambiguous environments

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
