About the role
We are seeking a Senior Data Software Engineer to join our Team, part of the broader Investment Systems organization. This role will focus on designing, developing, and supporting technology solutions that power liquid credit investment workflows, including trade processing, reporting, and data management. You will work closely with portfolio managers, traders, operations, and other engineering teams to build scalable, high-performance systems that support critical investment functions.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust software solutions that support liquid credit investment processes
Integrate data across the various systems involved in credit investing to ensure consistency and reliability of information flows
Apply hands-on expertise with SQL Server (2016 or later) to build and support database-driven solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front office, operations, and product stakeholders, to align on requirements and deliverables
Optimize database performance and safeguard data accuracy and integrity across all supported systems
Take part in system architecture discussions and contribute to defining and refining engineering best practices
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly to minimize business impact
Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code that supports long-term maintainability
Requirements
At least 3 years of professional relevant experience in software engineering with a data or backend focus
Strong hands-on experience with SQL, including query optimization, stored procedures, and data modeling
Proven ability to build and enhance reporting capabilities using SSRS along with SQL-based data models
Expertise in writing and optimizing complex stored procedures and queries to support demanding business needs
Solid software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, object-oriented programming, and system design
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills applied to complex technical challenges
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Fluent English at a B2 level or higher, both written and verbal
Nice to have
Experience working in financial services or investment systems
Proficiency in Python for data processing or backend development tasks
Exposure to Allvue's cloud-native platform (Everest), particularly the trade and order management modules
Familiarity with AWS, including cloud infrastructure, services, and deployment practices
Understanding of the trade lifecycle, order management systems, or portfolio management systems
Experience with modern software development practices, such as CI/CD, DevOps, and microservices architectures
