About us
The Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre (CTC) is part of the Cancer Institute at University College London.
The CTC is responsible for the development and conduct of clinical trials to evaluate new approaches to the treatment of cancer and is a UKCRC Registered Clinical Trials Unit. The CTC has a portfolio which includes multicentre phase III trials using survival, tumour response and quality of life as endpoints. The portfolio also encompasses phase I and II, some with biological endpoints, and there is an interest in screening studies within the organisation. CTC staff collaborate with clinicians and research staff in the UK and abroad. The CTC Director is Allan Hackshaw, Professor of Epidemiology &; Medical Statistics at UCL.
The CTC is based in central London, and offers a great working environment, in terms of both the people and the location.
About the role
We are looking for a Trials Assistant to support the CTC trial teams. This varied administrative role will support the teams with the day-to-day coordination of clinical trials and will be a key point of contact for hospitals participating in our trials. The post holder will assist in developing standard practices within the CTC and in problem-solving.
The CTC offers hybrid working for all staff, with a minimum of 60-80% FTE office attendance required for this post (3-4 days per week), along with many other staff benefits. All staff are provided with excellent training opportunities, and the CTC team actively encourages ongoing personal development and learning.
About you
We are looking for a highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Previous administrative experience in a hospital, medical or academic environment is essential, as is experience of data entry and/or using databases.
Knowledge of oncology and medical terminology would be advantageous.
