About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an analytical and solutions-focused Business Intelligence Officer to join the Finance Systems & Business Intelligence team within the NSW Department of Education.

Working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you'll help strengthen data governance, improve reporting capability and identify opportunities to enhance business processes, ensuring high-quality, reliable and accessible financial information is available to support strategic outcomes.

About you

You are passionate about improving educational and wellbeing outcomes for all learners in NSW Public Education. You are confident in your ability to utilise business intelligence solutions to improve reporting and governance, generating insights that further drive data-informed decision-making.

You will also bring:

Demonstrated experience developing business intelligence solutions, dashboards and reporting tools.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear, actionable insights.

Experience working with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver customer-focused solutions.

Knowledge of data governance, reporting standards and best practice business intelligence principles.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a broad audience.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key knowledge and experience

Experience in the design, delivery and maintenance of business intelligence strategies and governance protocols

Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Experience in the design, delivery and maintenance of business intelligence strategies and governance protocols Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

Qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience

Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
