About the role

The Project Officer role is a key position delivering Agriculture Victoria's Biosecurity Preparedness Program, strengthening Victoria’s whole-of-government preparedness for Emergency Animal Disease (EAD) and other significant biosecurity emergencies. The role supports effective system-wide readiness through governance, coordination, evaluation and continuous improvement of preparedness capability.

The Project Officer position is responsible for managing projects and supporting program governance, including preparing briefings and presentations, coordinating reporting and monitoring activities, and contributing to the delivery of key corporate functions such as budget, procurement and program administration.

Working across a complex and fast-paced environment, the Project Officer supports coordination across policy, operational and technical teams to enable effective delivery of preparedness initiatives. The role contributes to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of policies, procedures and practices that support best-practice project and program delivery.

The position requires demonstrated project management capability, strong analytical and organisational skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders across government, industry and community.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

Experience relevant to project management, governance, and stakeholder management in government settings.

A relevant tertiary qualification (desired).

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2027. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
