Project Officer, Lived Experience

About the role:

The Project Officer - Lived Experience is part of the Lived Experience Programs and Implementation team in the Lived Experience and Diverse Communities Unit and is responsible for supporting project activities to implement recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System, particularly those relating to Lived Experience-led entities and services.

The Project Officer - Lived Experience will work in close partnership and collaboration with external funded project teams, lived and living experience experts and leaders, and representative bodies consistent with the principles of coproduction to implement and monitor key service delivery priorities.

To be successful in this role you will be a high performing team member with strong project management, analytical, problem solving, and communication skills. The role is suited to individuals who are comfortable working with complex issues, and who can develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure reform outcomes are achieved.

About you:

Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring or delivering projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.

Monitor and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present reports, ministerial briefs, Cabinet and agency submissions.

Maintain an understanding of Commonwealth and State legislative and policy reform directions to influence policy development.

Develop policy initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.

Manage stakeholders through effective negotiation and influence.

Qualifications/Specialist Expertise:

A tertiary qualification in fields related to public health or public policy and a sound understanding of the Victorian mental health system would be desirable

A demonstrated professional work history that intentionally draws on lived experience is valued highly for this role.
