Position Summary

VERSA Integrated Solutions is seeking a highly skilled DevSecOps Engineer to design, implement, automate, and optimize secure software delivery pipelines supporting Federal Government customers. The successful candidate will integrate cybersecurity, automation, cloud technologies, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) into enterprise DevOps environments while ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.

The DevSecOps Engineer will collaborate with Software Developers, Cloud Engineers, Cybersecurity Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Program Managers to build resilient CI/CD pipelines that improve software quality, deployment speed, and operational security.

Position Objectives

The DevSecOps Engineer will:

Integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions. Improve software deployment automation. Enhance application security through automated testing and compliance. Support cloud modernization and Zero Trust initiatives.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

CI/CD Pipeline Development

Design, implement, and maintain enterprise CI/CD pipelines. Automate software builds, testing, deployment, and rollback procedures. Integrate automated quality assurance and security validation. Improve release velocity while maintaining security and reliability.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Develop and manage infrastructure using:

Terraform ARM Templates Azure Bicep AWS CloudFormation Ansible Puppet Chef

Implement version-controlled infrastructure supporting cloud-native environments.

Cloud Engineering

Support enterprise cloud platforms including:

Microsoft Azure Azure Government Amazon Web Services (AWS) Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Implement cloud-native deployment strategies supporting containerized applications and microservices.

Containerization & Orchestration

Develop and maintain solutions using:

Docker Kubernetes OpenShift Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)

Implement container security and automated deployment processes.

Security Automation

Integrate automated security controls including:

Static Application Security Testing (SAST) Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) Software Composition Analysis (SCA) Container vulnerability scanning Infrastructure vulnerability assessments Secrets management

DevSecOps Governance

Develop and maintain:

Secure coding standards CI/CD governance Release management processes Security documentation Compliance reporting Change management procedures

Monitoring & Observability

Implement monitoring using:

Azure Monitor Application Insights Prometheus Grafana Splunk Elastic Stack Microsoft Sentinel

Monitor application health, security events, and deployment performance.

Collaboration

Partner with:

Software Developers Cloud Architects Cloud Engineers Cybersecurity Engineers Systems Engineers Database Administrators Program Managers Enterprise Architects

Promote a culture of automation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Education

Bachelor's degree in:

Computer Science Information Systems Cybersecurity Software Engineering Information Technology Engineering

Equivalent experience may substitute for education.

Master's degree preferred.

Experience Levels

Junior (0–4 Years)

Experience with Git and CI/CD concepts. Basic cloud platform experience. Familiarity with scripting languages. Exposure to container technologies.

Intermediate (5–9 Years)

Production CI/CD implementation. Infrastructure as Code. Cloud deployment automation. Security scanning integration. Kubernetes administration.

Senior (10–14 Years)

Enterprise DevSecOps leadership. Multi-cloud architecture. Secure pipeline governance. Cloud modernization leadership. Team mentoring.

Subject Matter Expert (15+ Years)

Recognized expertise in:

Enterprise DevSecOps Strategy Cloud Security Architecture Zero Trust Implementation Platform Engineering Federal Secure Software Delivery Executive Technical Leadership

National Institutes of Health (NIH) Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) U.S. Census Bureau Department of Commerce Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Department of Defense (DoD) Department of Labor (DOL)

Experience working within FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, RMF, or CISA guidance is highly desirable.

Security Clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or higher clearance, depending on customer requirements.

Work Environment

Hybrid or onsite within the Washington, DC Metro Area based on customer requirements. Collaborative engineering environment supporting mission-critical federal systems. Participation in Agile release cycles, after-hours deployments, and occasional maintenance windows may be required.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
