About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sales Support Manager to lead and improve the sales support function for a growing food manufacturing organization in Sterling, VA. The successful candidate will oversee sales support operations, pricing administration, customer data management, reporting, and coordination across multiple departments. Key Responsibilities
Sales Operations & Process Management
Manage pricing setup, pricing maintenance, and contract administration processes
Maintain customer classifications, price groups, pricing requests, and sales-related data in CRM and ERP systems
Update, review, and maintain customer pricing structures across multiple platforms
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce errors and improve efficiency
Monitor competitor activity and provide recommendations related to pricing and product positioning
Support sales teams with accurate data, documentation, and operational guidance
Reporting & Analytics
Prepare customer sales reports, forecasts, budgets, and performance summaries
Generate and analyze sales KPI reports and business metrics
Gather and consolidate data from multiple systems to support decision-making
Create ad hoc reports and analyses for management as needed
Provide actionable insights to improve sales performance and operational efficiency
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales, Logistics, Planning, Quality Assurance, Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and Product Development teams
Coordinate with internal departments to improve customer service and business processes
Provide escalation support for operational issues affecting sales support functions
Support multiple sales channels through effective communication and coordination
Team Leadership
Manage and mentor a Sales Support team of approximately 5–10 employees
Oversee team schedules, priorities, and workload distribution
Establish team goals, service standards, and performance expectations
Train team members on SOPs, company policies, and best practices
Conduct performance reviews and identify opportunities for team development
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and service standards
Meetings & Communication
Attend quarterly and annual sales meetings
Communicate effectively with customers, internal teams, and leadership
Analyze sales team needs and coordinate appropriate support activities
Maintain a professional, responsive, and customer-focused approach
Required Qualifications
3–5 years of progressive experience in Sales Support, Sales Operations, or a related role
1–2 years of experience managing a team of 5–10 employees
Experience supporting multiple sales channels and customer-facing teams
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel
Experience working with CRM and ERP systems
Ability to create reports, forecasts, and business analyses
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
Customer-focused mindset with strong relationship-building skills
Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in food manufacturing, foodservice, consumer products, or a related industry
Knowledge of sales operations best practices
Experience with pricing management processes
Experience supporting large customer accounts or complex sales organizations
