Position Summary
We are seeking a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate to join our Applications Engineering team supporting refrigeration solutions. This role is focused on technical product application, system selection support, and customer-facing engineering assistance across North American and Latin American markets and provides the opportunity to develop expertise in commercial refrigeration systems, CO₂ (R744) technology, and customer-facing engineering while working alongside experienced engineering professionals.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly curious, and comfortable working directly with customers, sales teams, and factory engineering groups. This position follows a hybrid work schedule and is based in Charlotte, NC.
Responsibilities:
Support application engineering for CO₂ (R744) refrigeration systems, condensing units, and rack systems
Assist in system selection, sizing, and configuration based on customer requirements and project specifications
Review and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical/mechanical schematics
Provide technical support with guidance from senior engineers to sales and field teams, including troubleshooting and application guidance
Collaborate with factory engineering teams to ensure correct product application and system performance
Help prepare technical submittals, quotes, and system documentation for customers
Participate in testing, validation, and performance analysis of refrigeration systems
Support commissioning and field issue resolution as needed (remote and occasional site support)
Communicate directly with customers and partners
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering environment
Ability to travel up to approximately 15% for customer visits, factory training, and commissioning support.
Preferred
Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) is preferred; training and development will be provided for the right candidate.
Fluent in written and spoken Spanish (preferred)
