Psychiatrist MD or DO - Flexible Hours - PART-TIME or FULL-TIME

We are seeking a dedicated, forward-thinking Psychiatrist, MD or DO, to help lead a new innovative model of psychiatric care in the post-acute and senior living setting.

This is a flexible, part-time opportunity designed for a psychiatrist who wants to do more than provide traditional psychiatric oversight. We are looking for a clinical innovator, someone who enjoys teaching, mentoring, improving systems, supporting regulatory readiness, and helping build a higher standard of behavioral health care for skilled nursing and assisted living communities.

Our company is rapidly growing and focused on delivering an advanced, facility-integrated psychiatry model that supports residents, families, nursing teams, and interdisciplinary care partners. The psychiatrist in this role may serve primarily as a supervising and mentoring physician for psychiatric-trained Advanced Practice Providers, or may choose a hybrid structure that includes both clinical rounding and APP supervision.

A key part of this position is serving as a trusted clinical and regulatory resource for our facility partners. You will help strengthen relationships with skilled nursing facilities by supporting Directors of Nursing, facility leadership, and clinical teams with psychiatric guidance, survey preparation, documentation standards, psychotropic medication practices, and complex resident care concerns.

You will also help drive provider quality by reviewing and auditing documentation for clinical accuracy, regulatory alignment, and survey readiness. When opportunities for improvement are identified, you will provide education, coaching, and clinical guidance to help our provider team continue improving.

Key Responsibilities

Provide clinical supervision and oversight to psychiatric Advanced Practice Providers in accordance with Washington State requirements.

Mentor APPs in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, and appropriate use of psychotherapy-based interventions.

Support individualized treatment plans that may include psychopharmacology, behavioral interventions, supportive therapy, CBT-informed strategies, trauma-informed care, and interdisciplinary care planning.

Serve as a clinical resource to skilled nursing and assisted living facility leadership, including Directors of Nursing and interdisciplinary care teams.

Provide guidance related to psychotropic medication use, gradual dose reduction considerations, behavioral health documentation, and survey-readiness expectations.

Assist facility partners during survey or regulatory review when psychiatric or behavioral health questions arise.

Review and audit provider documentation for quality, accuracy, medical necessity, compliance, and regulatory alignment.

Provide follow-up education and training to APPs when documentation or clinical practice improvement opportunities are identified.

Collaborate with nursing, social services, therapy, administration, and medical leadership to support resident-centered care.

Provide crisis consultation and clinical guidance for acute behavioral health concerns when appropriate.

Participate in building and improving clinical systems, workflows, education tools, and quality standards for a growing post-acute psychiatry platform.
