Single Molecule Biophotonics Group: Project Researcher Engineer in the field of cell membrane mechanobiology
About the role
ICFO is offering a Project Researcher Engineer position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.
The successful candidate will be joining the Single Molecule Biophotonics group led by Prof. Dr. María García-Parajo.
The project aims at the use of mechanosensitive fluorescence probes and their application using fluorescence lifetime imaging for elucidating membrane tension propagation in living cells.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Optimising imaging conditions that allow sequential imaging of mechanosensitive probes with high spatiotemporal resolution and sensitivity while guaranteeing cell viability
Cell sample preparation & labelling
FLIM imaging
Data analysis
Candidates must hold, at the time of contract initiation, an internationally-recognized Master Degree.
The candidate should have:
Cell biology background
Extensive expertise in advanced microscopy imaging, in particular FLIM
Data analysis skills
Salaries for ICFO Project Researcher Engineer positions are assigned by the Selection Committee, based on experience and seniority of the applicant, as well as the assigned tasks and responsibilities within the group.
The contract is offered initially for a period up to 6 months.
Additionally, a family allowance is also available on request and after corresponding approval for people with family charges in the terms described in the corresponding policy.
