JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Storeroom is responsible for working closely with the Food & Beverage leadership team in managing and optimizing costs related to Grouse Mountain’s direct and indirect purchasing. The role supports purchasing, delivery & inventory of food, beverage, dry goods and other items related to multiple outlets including Altitudes Bistro, The Observatory, Grouse Grind Coffee Bar, Lupins, Banqueted events and other seasonal outlets. Working closely with the F&B Purchasing Manager, this role will lead a team of Storeroom employees and implement best practices, vendor sourcing, inventory control and pricing strategies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Oversees all storeroom functions and responsibilities in absence of F&B Purchasing Manager
Provides support as required to maintain daily storeroom operations of product transport & coordination, storage and logistics
Verifies quality and quantity of goods received from suppliers and ensure proper rotation and allocation
Plans, directs and coordinates the distribution of products to all F&B outlets
Assists the F&B Purchasing Manager in maintaining inventory control, ordering and pricing of all required products
Monitoring and participation in sanitation, organization and cleanliness in all storeroom areas
Monitor the transfer of goods from Storeroom to F&B outlets and between those
Manages & maintains F&B inventory software
Posts all F&B invoices
Executes monthly inventory counts with assistance of F&B department heads
Posting and reconciliation of monthly inventory
Analyzes F&B departmental sales mixes with support of outlet managers to ensure profitability
Monitor & analyzes F&B food cost across all F&B departments
Monitors & analyzes profitability of special events (NYE, Easter, Mother’s Day, Large Events)
Assists in daily process of payroll management through Dayforce software
Assist in control and management of annual storeroom labour budgets
Assists in recruitment, orientation, training, coaching, scheduling and performance management of storeroom personal
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Direct supervision of Storeroom Attendants and Supervisors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
Post-secondary education in business, considered an asset
Previous experience in kitchen operations, including inventory management and purchasing, is considered a strong asset.
Experience with Optimum Control considered a strong asset
Computer proficiency in MS Office and Squirrel
Detail oriented and strong organizational skills required
Strong technical and analytical skills
Responsible and reliable and must have the ability to work independently with no supervision
WORKING CONDITIONS
The Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Storeroom will perform some of their duties outdoors and may work in all different kinds of weather conditions. Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$52,000 to $60,000 annually
