About the role
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer with 4 to 10 years of experience in test automation using Selenium with Java. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and programming skills, with hands-on experience in database testing and Unix environments. Exposure to modern automation tools and cloud platforms is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, enterprise-grade automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright
Develop automated test suites covering:
Functional
Regression
API
End-to-End scenarios
Develop and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and QA teams to understand requirements and translate them into automation solutions
Perform test planning, execution, and defect tracking activities
Work with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) for automation integration
Validate data integrity by performing database testing using SQL queries
Execute tests in Unix/Linux environments and support deployment validations
Analyze test results, identify issues, and provide detailed reports to stakeholders
Continuously improve automation frameworks and testing processes
Required Skills & Qualifications
4–10 years of experience in QA automation
Strong hands-on experience with:
Selenium and any other automation tool
Java programming
Agile/Scrum methodologies
Good understanding of:
Automation frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, BDD/Cucumber – preferred)
SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies
Strong SQL expertise (mandatory)
Solid foundation in:
OOP principles
Data structures & algorithms
Design patterns for automation frameworks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with database testing (SQL)
Working knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and environments
Experience with version control tools like Git
Familiarity with defect tracking tools (JIRA, ALM, etc.)
Good to Have Skills
Exposure to modern automation tools such as Playwright
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
Knowledge of API testing tools (Rest Assured/Postman)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Understanding of containerization or microservices-based architectures
Domain knowledge in Finance / Banking (e.g., financial transactions, data validation, reconciliation, regulatory workflows)
Soft Skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced Agile environment
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
