About the Team:
Enterprise pricing team is the owner of pricing and promotions which is backend system built to create omni channel experience for JCP's customers and associates as well across the multiple selling channels digital, stores and contact centre. We started journey by solving the complex problem of migrating away from licensed product to building inhouse pricing system using latest tools and modern technologies like Java, spring boot, ReactJs, Cassandra DB, Graph DB, Kafka, AWS cloud a few to call out. We have built this product highly scalable, available, resilient to adhere current business needs and extensible enough to accommodate the future needs. Team is having very healthy, competitive and collaborative environment striving to achieve best technology implementations in the product.
Job Summary:
As a Senior QA Manual/Automation Test Engineer – Digital Pricing, you’ll ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance of dynamic pricing capabilities - including algorithms, pipelines, and services - through comprehensive automation testing. Collaborate within cross-functional product pods to build robust, scalable test frameworks and uphold pricing integrity across digital platforms.
Role Responsibilities:
Pricing-Focused Test Strategy:
o Collaborate with product, Business and pricing teams to define test scenarios around pricing logic, edge cases (e.g., rounding, discount combinations), and rate calculations.
o Validate pricing algorithms with regression, boundary, sanity, and performance testing.
End-to-End Automation
o Design and implement/maintain automated tests (UI, API, backend) that verify pricing workflows - from rule updates to price propagation across UI and downstream services.
Automation Framework & CI/CD
o Development of automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
o Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) to enforce quality gates and fast feedback loops.
Mentorship & Collaboration
o Promoting best practices in pricing test coverage, automation standards, and framework enhancements.
o Participate in sprint ceremonies and collaborate with stakeholders to manage testability early in development.
Coverage & Maintenance
o Ensure automation covers pricing rules, UI flows, APIs, and corner scenarios like expiration and rounding.
o Evolve and refactor the framework continuously to align with changes in pricing logic or system architecture.
Reporting & Monitoring
o Analyse test results, generate detailed defect reports, and monitor failures to identify systemic issues.
Technical Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
6+ years in QA automation, ideally within pricing, ecommerce
Skilled in automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured, Postman.
Solid coding ability in Java, Python, or JavaScript
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab, version control (Git), and issue tracking (JIRA)
Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases
Familiarity with testing frameworks like TestNG, JUnit, or Cucumber
Familiarity with version control, defect tracking, and test management tools (GIT, Jenkins, JIRA).
Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter) and API testing
