Job Overview

Purpose:

Reporting to the Holford General Manager, TVSSCS are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our warehousing and logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Holford & Off-site operations, including pick, pack & dispatch, returns filtration, stock management, warehousing standards, health and safety & people management. The Operations Manager will be expected to ensure that all warehousing standards are met, and that the department/facility is operating efficiently to meet the business & customer needs.

Job Responsibilities

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including pick, pack & dispatch, returns filtration, stock management, warehousing standards, health and safety & people management.

Ensure that all warehousing standards are met, and that the facility is operating efficiently to meet the business & customer needs.

Monitor inventory levels and ensure accuracy of stock records, implementing strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize stock wastage.

Oversee the management of the warehouse team, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

Ensure that health and safety regulations are adhered to and promote a safe working environment for all staff.

Manage employee absence and attendance, including tracking, reporting, and taking corrective action where necessary to minimize the impact on warehouse operations.

Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, customer service, and finance, to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.

Provide regular reports to senior management on warehouse performance, including KPIs, quality metrics, and cost control measures.

Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including local and national laws, industry standards, and company policies.

Performance Measures

Order fulfilment accuracy: Measure the percentage of orders picked and shipped accurately, without errors or damage.

On-time delivery: Track the percentage of orders that are delivered on or before the promised delivery date.

Inventory accuracy: Measure the accuracy of your stock management system by tracking the percentage of stock that is accounted for and properly stored.

Employee productivity: Track the number of orders picked, packed, and shipped per employee per hour, as well as the overall productivity of the warehouse.

Absenteeism and turnover rate: Monitor the number of staff absences and employee turnover to assess the health of the workforce and identify any potential issues.

Health and safety incidents: Track the number of accidents and injuries that occur in the warehouse, as well as the number of near-miss incidents, to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Cost control: Monitor the costs associated with warehouse operations, including labour, inventory, and transportation, to identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability.

From time to time, as directed by Management, you may be required to undertake other duties and measurable which fall within your capabilities to which full training will be offered and given.

Key Relationships

Close working relationships within customer services, Supervisors, Managers, Account managers and Senior management teams, and all other staff across other relevant departments within TVS/Rico Logistics Ltd as a whole. Professional relationship with client base.

Qualifications and Skills

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a warehouse or logistics environment.

Strong knowledge of pick, pack, and dispatch operations and warehouse management systems.

Familiarity with customer SLAs and the ability to meet and exceed performance targets.

Proficiency in inventory management techniques and practices.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and their application in a warehouse setting.

Good analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to use data to drive operational improvements.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing business needs.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Working in an office and warehouse environment.

Working Hours: 40 hrs per week Monday to Friday between the hours 09:00 am to 18:00 pm. Maybe required to work weekends depending on business needs.
