HQP – 500 Team Lead Human Resources – Thalheim R&D Center (m/w/d)

Location: Thalheim, Germany
Position Summary
As the senior HR leader for Qcells’ Thalheim R&D Center, you will shape and execute the people strategy to attract, retain, develop, and engage critical R&D talent. You will partner closely with global and local leadership to translate business priorities into effective HR solutions, strengthening organizational capability and enabling the future growth of Qcells’ Global Technology Group.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, ensuring alignment between global HR initiatives and local business needs while leading a full-scope HR team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a full-scope HR team (6–8 members) across HRBPs, payroll, HR services, and apprenticeship programs
Serve as the primary HR advisor to Thalheim R&D leadership, aligning with Global Technology HR strategy and global Qcells’ Chief Technology Officer priorities
Act as a key interface between global HR, HQ, and local leadership, ensuring alignment and clear decision-making
Translate global HR strategy into practical, compliant local execution, balancing standardization with local requirements
Oversee end-to-end HR operations across the full employee lifecycle including workforce planning, labor cost management, and employee relations
Ensure compliance with German labor law and effectively navigate the works council and local labor environment
Drive a competitive employee value proposition, including compensation, benefits, and talent attraction strategies
Enhance employee and leadership experience through streamlined processes, clear governance, and consistent execution
Build organizational capability, including leadership development, talent planning, and career frameworks
Required Qualifications
10+ years of progressive HR experience
Strong expertise in German labor law and industrial relations - Experience working with works councils and co-determination frameworks
Experience supporting engineering, R&D, or manufacturing organizations
Fluency in German and English
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years in HR with progressive experience in HR leadership or site HR roles within complex organizations
Strong business acumen with the ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, influencing decisions and balancing business and employee perspectives
Proven ability to translate business strategy into impactful HR strategy and deliver measurable outcomes across global and local stakeholders
Demonstrated success leading and developing HR teams, driving accountability, engagement, and performance across multiple HR disciplines
Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively up, across, and down the organization
Deep expertise in talent management, performance management, leadership development, organizational design, and compensation
Data-driven mindset, with the ability to translate employee feedback and insights into actionable solutions
Strong problem-solving capability and growth mindset, operating effectively in complex and evolving environments
Experience in R&D or engineering-driven organizations
Proven ability to lead in global and matrixed environments, working across cultures and functions
