Position Overview
Business Intelligence Developer
The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing and developing dashboards and reporting solutions using the Microsoft BI stack, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft SSRS/Snowflake and SQL development. This role focuses on building scalable data models, managing data and report development and enhancements, and supporting production-ready analytics solutions in an Agile environment.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate data into actionable reporting and insights, while contributing to the full development lifecycle - from data sourcing and modeling to visualization and optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Write and optimize complex SQL queries to support reporting and analytics in the SSRS and Snowflake platforms
Translate business and client requests into applicable technical deliverables
Build and maintain data models using relational databases, tabular models, or cubes
Develop proof-of-concept (POC) reports and dashboards and evolve them into production solutions
Ensure data accuracy, performance, and scalability of BI solutions
Collaborate with technical teams to define and implement data structures and reporting schemas
Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and delivery
Support testing, validation, and ongoing enhancement of dashboards and reports
Research and apply new tools, features, and best practices in BI and data visualization
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3–5+ years of experience in BI or data development roles
Strong expertise in:
SQL (advanced querying, performance tuning)
Microsoft SQL Server (SSRS)
Experience working with:
Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data platforms
Data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
Familiarity with Sigma or other modern BI tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.)
Ability to work with large datasets and optimize performance
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Nice-to-Have Skills (or willingness to learn)
Exposure to CI/CD, Git, or DevOps practices
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
Eagerness to learn new tools and technologies
Work environment:
Willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours as required to complete projects
Sitting at desk or in meetings for long periods of time
