As a Staff Engineer, Cloud DevOps, you will be responsible for Building DevOps strategies. Leading DevOps initiatives, designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, automating software development processes, managing cloud infrastructure, ensuring system reliability through monitoring, and building operational excellence to accelerate Cloud software delivery.

In this hands-on role, you will collaborate closely with our Software, Hardware, Research, Quality and Regulatory and Operations teams - as well as other cross-functional partners - to design and develop the Cloud DevOps infrastructure to achieve operational excellence and improve the Cloud software development lifecycle. You will partner with Cepheid IDC and Cepheid Sunnyvale leadership to build technical capability at Cepheid.

This position is part of the R&D Department and will be located in Bangalore, IDC, India . Our vision is to continuously drive innovation and efficiency in our development processes, leveraging the latest in software and hardware technologies to meet the needs of our global customers.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Design, implement, and maintain scalable Cloud DevOps infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using AWS, Jenkins, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation

Architect and automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Chef, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes to support continuous software delivery

Administer and maintain development and production tool servers including Perforce, JIRA, Confluence, Code Collaborator, Coverity, and CI/CD systems

Implement monitoring and performance optimization systems using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch to ensure high availability and rapid issue resolution

Develop and maintain technical documentation including IQ protocols, backup and recovery policies, upgrade plans, and support documentation aligned with compliance standards such as ISO and FDA

The essential requirements of the job include:

Engineering degree in computer science or equivalent with 8+ years of experience as a Cloud DevOps engineer, including 3+ years in a lead role managing product security teams

Proficiency with AWS cloud services and container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes

Experience developing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Puppet, or Chef

Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions

Proficiency in scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell and experience with monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

A background in leveraging AI to improve operational performance.

Experience working with distributed teams in a global setting.

Comfortable in using a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools.

Experience with systems administration and IT operations (networks, cyber security, etc.)

Experience with regulated environments – tool validation and validated processes.
