About the role

Job Description:

The scope of services for the onshore cloud architect shall be as follows:

Demonstrate expertise in cloud architecture, cloud native patterns, container management, and cloud computing capabilities, with a strong emphasis on security best practices.

Design, develop, and deploy systems in Government on Commercial Cloud (GCC) and Commercial Cloud (CC), ensuring robust security controls and network boundary controls are integrated.

Utilize cloud security controls, network boundary controls, and related toolsets to ensure the security posture of cloud resources.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and integrate DevOps for all applications in GCC, including the necessary pipeline and integrations, with a focus on security automation and compliance.

Deploy, configure, and upgrade cloud resources while adhering to stringent security requirements during project implementation.

Monitor and review all cloud resources, taking necessary actions to resolve security-related issues and optimize resource spending in alignment with Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) guidelines.

Collaborate with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to implement necessary changes and improve the security posture of cloud resources based on recommendations and best practices.

Set up new development tools and infrastructure in the CI/CD landscape, focusing on security automation and compliance;

Automate and improve development and release processes with a strong emphasis on security best practices;

Maintain and adopt Agile best practices and lifecycles for process workflows, ensuring security considerations are integrated throughout the development lifecycle;

Develop and maintain cloud solutions, server, storage, and network in accordance with IM8 policies and best practices, with a strong focus on security and compliance;

Collaborate closely with partners, vendors, application developers, and other teams to implement new systems with a security-first mindset;

Support projects in accordance with technical design specifications, ensuring security requirements are met.

Assist in Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives to implement end-to-end DevOps for identified applications/use cases, with a strong emphasis on security automation and compliance.

Provide support for project updates, task lists, and procurement-related processes with a focus on security considerations.

Assist in user acceptance testing, project documentation, and document sign-off, ensuring security requirements are met; Troubleshoot complex security issues and document solutions in accordance with security best practices.

Prepare technical documents and user guides for the Cloud operations team, emphasizing security best practices and compliance; and

Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations to improve security workflows, processes, and technology.

The Onshore Cloud Architect shall meet the following qualifications and have the following skill sets:

a) Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Computer/Information Science or equivalent degree.

Experience with implementing and managing secure cloud environments (AWS); Strong understanding of AWS and Azure (or GCP) cloud technologies with a focus on reliability, security controls, and compliance.

Relevant technology certifications preferred.

Experience with ARM (or equivalent), Azure DevOps (or equivalent), Terraform (or equivalent), Ansible (or equivalent), PowerShell, etc.

Experience in deploying High Availability solutions on new systems and databases.

Ability to provide and suggest cloud solutions based on best security practices and compliance requirements.

Good understanding of ITIL processes, including Service Desk, Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management.

Strong understanding of IT infrastructure in terms of cloud solutions, server, storage, backup, and network.

Knowledge of Windows and Unix servers and network management principles with a strong emphasis on security considerations.

Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve security issues before they affect business productivity.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders, present ideas, and explain complex concepts clearly; and

Familiar with local public sector projects and government policies and processes such as IM8, cybersecurity, data security.

Pay: $7,000.00 - $8,000.00 per month

Experience:

Terraform: 1 year (Preferred)

Ansible: 1 year (Preferred)

AWS Or Azure Or GCP: 1 year (Preferred)

Cloud architecture: 1 year (Preferred)
