About the role
Who are we?
We are currently seeking a Firmware and Control Engineer to join our dynamic team in Castel Guelfo (BO), Italy!
This position is in charge to design, analyze and troubleshoot firmware code (IC embedded code), contributes to code reviews and team performance improvement. Read and understands the diagram of hardware and embedded system. Define the tests to validate the firmware design and write proper documentation. Motivate the team members and guarantee the correct flow of information to avoid misunderstanding and lack of clarity. Provide technical support in case the customer requires. Analyze specific applications providing active support and service.
What kind of work will you be doing?
Works with the Firmware team to design, analyze and troubleshoot software for functions allocated, understands the working principle of hardware.
Provide the firmware test specification and support during the life of the product.
Works with the tech-support team to solve problems in field.
Cooperate with other engineering functions during the definition of the product specification.
Support the testing team for the definition of the test plan and review the test results.
Produce technical documentation in line with the process requirements such as drawings, component specification.
What will make you successful?
Excellent planning and communication skills are required.
Key skills: 3 years or more of experience of control algorithms design using Simulink/Matlab, PID regulator, Clarke and Park transforms, Digital filtering, Hardware in the loop
Good knowledge: C language based on DSP real time system architecture, Git/Git Lab and Tortoise SVN, DSP/MCU architecture, preferably TI oriented
Preferred: Can Bus, I2C, Spi and Serial protocol communication, PWM and ADC Converter, familiarity with laboratory instruments (multimeter, oscilloscope, power meter), electronic power converter
University master degree in Software/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
3 years or more of experience in equivalent areas (e.g., UPS, Inverter, Power converter or low voltage electrical distribution) is a plus.
Good knowledge of the PLM (Product Life Cycle management) and processes.
Good team working attitude and communication.
Customer oriented and availability to travel.
Good English language knowledge.

The anticipated salary range for this role in the Castel Guelfo (BO), Italy locality is between 41.000€ to 52.000€ gross per year [IF ROLE IS NON-EXEMPT: (based on a 40-hour work week)] - salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. Certain roles are eligible for additional benefits. Where applicable, a comprehensive overview of the full benefits package and any additional compensation will be provided during the initial interview. Compensation ranges are determined based on objective, gender-neutral criteria including skills, experience, and job responsibilities.
