The Clerical Manager is responsible for effectively managing clerical services within the Centre, ensuring high-quality, cost-efficient administrative support while contributing to the achievement of business and service objectives.

This role oversees key administrative functions, including reception and customer service, medical record handling and management, outpatient appointment management, inpatient and outpatient revenue, secretarial services as well as MDT coordination. Your leadership will be key in promoting service excellence and supporting operational success.

What you will bring to the role

Possesses relevant tertiary qualifications in health information or administration, or equivalent experience, with demonstrated capability in managing clinic operations, including coordination of clerical workflows, best‑practice rostering and delivery of efficient, patient‑centred administrative services in a high‑demand outpatient environment.

Strong capability in data, reporting and performance management, with proven understanding of clinical information systems, data quality, activity‑based funding requirements, and how administrative processes influence revenue outcomes.

Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to determine priorities for others, delegate tasks effectively, supervise staff performance, and support change management initiatives with minimal guidance.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage confidently with senior clinicians, multidisciplinary teams, departmental managers, patients, and external stakeholders

Strong commitment to frontline customer service and quality service delivery, with demonstrated ability to build positive relationships, resolve issues, and uphold superior service standards for patients and carers.

Demonstrated high level computer competency, including proficient use of clinical and administrative information systems with the ability to analyse data, generate reports, maintain data quality and apply digital tools effectively to support efficient outpatient operations.
