About the role

Overview:

At KPMG in Canada, our people bring their unique perspectives to Canada’s most important challenges. Here, you can build momentum that reaches beyond our business, develop skills for the future, and take ownership of your career with support at every stage. Join a firm where your career can make a difference.

Our Tax Value Creation team is growing, with a mandate to drive strategic growth across the Tax practice. This team plays a central role in shaping how tax integrates into broader client offerings - particularly across Advisory - ensuring differentiated, market-leading solutions for our most strategic clients.

This opportunity is designed for a high-performing professional who combines strong tax technical capabilities with business acumen and a commercial mindset. You will work closely with Tax and Advisory leaders to identify, design, and operationalize opportunities where tax enhances broader client solutions and creates measurable value. A key focus is supporting priority client relationships and the partners who lead them - helping shape and deliver integrated solutions for complex, high-value engagements.

You will operate at the intersection of tax, strategy, technology, and execution - contributing to how we go to market, bringing new offerings to life, and supporting adoption across the firm.

This role is well suited for someone looking for an evolving, multi-faceted career, driven by curiosity and a desire to build.

What you will do:

Drive initiatives that enable growth across the Tax practice, with a focus on embedding tax into priority Advisory offerings and client engagements

Partner with Advisory teams to identify opportunities where tax capabilities enhance client value propositions

Support the design and operationalization of new offerings, including defining scope, developing go-to-market approaches, and enabling execution

Act as a connector across Tax, Advisory, and industry teams to support integrated, client-centric solutions

Engage with stakeholders to align priorities and contribute to the execution of strategic initiatives

Contribute to business development efforts, including supporting pursuits and drafting integrated proposals

Translate technical tax concepts into clear, commercially relevant insights

Execute initiatives with pace and discipline, moving work from concept through to implementation

Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture

What you bring to this role:

5+ years of relevant tax experience in a public accounting firm or similar environment

CPA designation (completed or in progress) or LLB

Completion of, or commitment to enroll in, the In-Depth Tax Program or Master of Tax

Strong technical tax foundation with the ability to apply knowledge in broader business contexts

Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of how professional services offerings are developed and delivered

Experience working across teams or disciplines, ideally with exposure to Advisory, Deals, or consulting environments

Ability to take concepts from idea to execution and contribute to measurable outcomes

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences

Who will thrive in this role

An individual who:

Is energized by building - not only delivering - and motivated by shaping new offerings

Is comfortable working in ambiguity and can bring structure to evolving initiatives

Thinks beyond technical tax and is interested in broader business strategy

Takes ownership and progresses work proactively

Collaborates effectively and builds strong working relationships

Is motivated by impact - both for clients and the firm
