Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the RD 72 Digital team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing at the earliest possible date as an Underwriter Digital Business.
The team supports Hannover Re in adapting to structural changes in the insurance market by developing reinsurance structures tailored to technology‑driven business models.
In this role, you will work closely with digital insurers worldwide, combining quantitative analysis, structured reinsurance expertise and professional relationship management. The position is both analytical and client‑oriented and offers the opportunity to actively help shape long‑term partnerships in a dynamic and evolving market segment.
You can look forward to
Analyse and underwrite reinsurance solutions for digital insurers and InsurTechs, including structured and innovative programmes
Assess risks using data‑driven, quantitative and scenario‑based approaches, taking strategic objectives into account
Structure, price and negotiate reinsurance contracts, including margin and profitability analyses
Build and maintain long‑term, trust‑based relationships with clients and brokers
Draft, review and manage reinsurance contracts
Monitor digital insurance trends, business models and technologies, and contribute insights to the further development of Hannover Re’s market positioning
Work in an agile, interdisciplinary team of six colleagues
You come equipped with
Degree in a scientific field such as Actuarial Science, Data Science, (Business) Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or a comparable qualification with a strong quantitative focus
Professional experience in reinsurance is desirable
The ability - or the willingness and skill to learn - to design and price structured reinsurance contracts using a quantitative and solution‑oriented approach
Interest in technology‑enabled insurance models, data‑driven decision‑making and economic developments
Business-fluent English for effective communication and negotiation in an international client and stakeholder environment
Willingness to undertake occasional international business travel (approximately three to four trips per year)
A structured and self‑reliant working style, combined with an understanding of business and market dynamics as well as the ability to adapt one’s own actions to changing requirements
