About the role

The role:

As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will provide a dedicated service to Next Distribution employees. Supporting the Dearne Valley and Doncaster sites and the Transport Division you will work within a multidisciplinary team to enhance wellbeing and minimise health risks.

What you’ll take on:

Managing a dedicated caseload to provide support and advice on long-term sickness absence and capability.

Carrying out physical and mental health assessments to make practical workplace recommendations for employees with chronic health problems.

Supporting tailored return-to-work programmes by identifying individual health needs.

Providing comprehensive, actionable, and timely reports on employee fitness based on evidence-based practice.

Supporting the delivery of

health surveillance, training, and health promotion programmes.

Undertaking workplace visits to identify factors impacting individual health , detecting significant hazards, and assisting Managers in correcting them before ill health or injury occurs.

Advising Managers and HR on current employment and health legislation.

What you’ll bring:

A strong understanding of current health, safety, and employment legislation.

The ability to write comprehensive, actionable, and timely reports while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with employees, Managers, HR, and external health professionals.

A proactive approach to identifying health hazards and promoting a healthier workplace.

A grounded understanding of evidence-based procedures and protocols to support business objectives.
