Job Description and Duties
The Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor) will be directed by the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:
Direct and assist in complex research projects.
Contacts fiscal unit to resolve errors and reconciling items.
Oversees compliance as related to Department of State Hospitals, Department of Finance, and other outside control agencies as related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Travel and Cashiering.
Supervise Accounting Office staff.
Assist in the preparation of year-end, financial statements, and other reports and reconciliations as needed.
Oversees compliance of warrant distribution times as related to the various Bargaining Units.

The Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero is a secure public sector hospital providing inpatient forensic services for mentally ill adult males who are court committed throughout the State of California.
