Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Solution Architect with deep expertise in database administration (DBA), database architecture, and cloud migration. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience migrating enterprise databases from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure across multiple database platforms. This role requires strong expertise in migration strategy, performance optimization, high availability, disaster recovery, and cloud modernization while working closely with Architecture, DevOps, and Application teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute enterprise-scale database migration strategies from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.

Lead database modernization initiatives with a focus on scalability, reliability, security, and cost optimization.

Perform hands-on migration of SQL and NoSQL databases with minimal or zero downtime.

Architect and implement High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and recovery solutions.

Conduct database performance tuning, capacity planning, and resource optimization.

Perform schema conversions, dependency analysis, and compatibility assessments during migration.

Validate migrated data through reconciliation and integrity checks.

Troubleshoot production database issues related to performance, stability, and resource utilization.

Collaborate with Architecture, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Application teams throughout migration projects.

Provide technical leadership for enterprise-scale cloud migration and modernization programs.

Develop migration best practices, standards, and documentation.

Required Skills

15+ years of experience in Database Administration, Database Architecture, and Cloud Migration.

Extensive hands-on experience migrating databases from On-Premises to Microsoft Azure.

Strong expertise in:

Microsoft SQL Server

MySQL

PostgreSQL

MongoDB

Database architecture and solution design.

Capacity planning and database scaling.

High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architecture.

Backup, recovery, and business continuity planning.

Zero or low-downtime migration strategies.

Database performance tuning and optimization.

Schema conversion and database compatibility analysis.

Enterprise troubleshooting and production support.

Experience handling complex, multi-platform database migrations.

Strong understanding of Azure cloud services related to databases and infrastructure.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

Azure Data Factory (ADF) for ETL/ELT pipeline development.

Self-Hosted Integration Runtime (SHIR).

SSIS Integration Runtime for legacy migration.

Infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.

Cloud-native integration patterns.

Multi-cloud experience with Azure, AWS, and GCP.

GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline implementation.

DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Azure Solution Architect Expert Certification.

Azure Database Administrator Associate Certification.

Experience with enterprise cloud transformation projects.

Familiarity with Azure Landing Zones and Well-Architected Framework.

Knowledge of security, governance, and compliance within Azure environments.
