We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Project Controls to lead and transform our project controls function across a portfolio of high-profile projects. Reporting to the PMC Director is a unique opportunity to shape and grow our Data Centre division, delivering for the best clients in Europe.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving consistency, governance, and performance across planning, cost management, risk, procurement, and project delivery. This role will partner with senior stakeholders to ensure predictable, efficient, and high-quality execution across the full project lifecycle from early development through to commissioning and handover.
Location: Flexible – this role can be based from any PM Group office across our global network.

Leadership & Strategy:
Define and deliver a best-in-class project controls strategy aligned to regional and organisational goals
Establish governance, standards, best practices and processes to drive consistency and performance across all projects
Partner with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making and delivery planning
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, internationally distributed team
Foster strong collaboration across functions creating a consistent approach to project controls.
Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and a positive team culture throughout the organisation
Project Controls Excellence:
Oversee planning, scheduling, cost management, procurement, and contract administration
Ensure robust project execution strategies and resource planning across programmes
Provide expert oversight and peer review to identify risk and optimisation opportunities
Implement progress measurement frameworks with regional benchmarking to monitor productivity, performance, and milestone adherence
Drive data driven cost optimisation initiatives and regional cost benchmarking
Drive standardisation across multiple projects and geographies
Performance, Risk & Reporting:
Implement data-driven frameworks to monitor cost, schedule, and productivity performance
Lead risk management across the project portfolio, including mitigation and reporting strategies
Deliver clear, accurate, and timely reporting to executive stakeholders
Maintain cost intelligence and drive continuous cost optimisation
Champion a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous enhancement across all delivery functions.
Quality, Governance & Compliance:
Establish and enforce QA/QC standards across all delivery phases
Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and internal requirements
Lead audits and embed continuous improvement initiatives
Digital Transformation & Innovation:
Champion the use of digital tools, automation, and analytics in project controls
Enhance reporting, transparency, and decision-making through real-time data
Drive process improvement and operational efficiency across the function
Stakeholder & Supply Chain Engagement
Collaborate closely with project, construction, and commercial teams
Support procurement strategies and contractor selection
Build strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
Extensive experience in project controls, programme management, or major capital projects
Proven leadership experience in complex construction environments (e.g. data centres, pharma, infrastructure, or mission-critical projects)
Expertise in planning, cost control, risk management, and reporting systems
Strong understanding of regional construction markets and regulatory environments
Track record of driving standardisation, transformation, and performance improvement
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
Strong competency in governance, process improvement, digital transformation, and risk-based decision making
