What You'll Be Doing:
Design and develop innovative API solutions that integrate seamlessly with AI technologies, including exploring Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implementations to enhance AI interactions with our optical design software
Evaluate and propose multiple technical approaches for creating new APIs that will serve as the foundation for next-generation software capabilities
Contribute to cross-platform development efforts, working with Linux and Windows environments to ensure compatibility across supported operating systems
What You'll Need:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (must be in their penultimate or final year of the degree program)
Experience with designing and developing C++ libraries and APIs
Experience with AI programming, particularly with agentic systems and understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar technologies
Proficiency in C# and .NET Framework is highly desirable
Linux and cross-platform development experience is a valuable asset
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to clearly summarize technical work and findings
Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with distributed teams
Self-motivated and able to work independently while maintaining regular communication with team members
Key Program Facts:
Program Length: 4 months
Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Working Model: Remote eligible
Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Start Date: September 2026
