The Role

We’re looking for a Flutter Tech Lead to join a product engineering team building secure, scalable applications across mobile (iOS & Android) and web.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll help shape the technical direction of the platform while remaining close to the code. You'll be responsible for driving engineering standards, ensuring quality and security, and supporting the delivery of high-quality customer-facing applications.

You'll work as part of an agile team, collaborating closely with engineers, product stakeholders and delivery teams to build, optimise and evolve a modern cross-platform platform.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead the design and development of cross-platform applications using Flutter and Dart

Drive technical architecture decisions and establish engineering best practices

Mentor and support developers across the team, promoting quality and continuous improvement

Implement and maintain robust state management approaches using technologies such as BLoC, Cubit or Redux

Manage and optimise large-scale codebases, shared libraries and monorepo-based development environments

Ensure security best practices are embedded throughout the application lifecycle, including authentication, certificate pinning and device attestation

Design and maintain comprehensive automated testing strategies across unit, component and integration testing

Monitor and improve test coverage and quality standards across the platform

Profile, troubleshoot and optimise application performance across mobile and web environments

Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions

Identify and prioritise technical debt while balancing ongoing feature delivery

Contribute to planning, architecture discussions and continuous improvement activities across the team

What We're Looking For

7+ years' software engineering experience with significant experience building mobile applications

Strong commercial experience developing cross-platform applications using Flutter and Dart

Previous experience in a technical lead or senior engineering role

Deep understanding of reactive state management patterns including BLoC, Cubit or Redux

Experience working with monorepos and managing shared dependencies across multiple applications

Strong understanding of mobile and web security principles

Proven experience implementing automated testing frameworks and quality strategies

Strong knowledge of performance profiling, troubleshooting and optimisation techniques

Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines

Excellent problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to delivery

Strong communication skills and experience working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

Experience with React Native or Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP)

Experience working on enterprise-scale or consumer-facing mobile platforms

Experience with cloud-native architectures and services

Exposure to regulated or security-sensitive environments

Experience leading distributed teams

Familiarity with modern observability and monitoring tooling
