About the role

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career, and client-oriented Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join our team in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Integrate and Extend Core Frameworks: Integrate with and extend the capabilities of the FBI’s AI Tool using an installable, modular, and proven agentic AI architecture.

Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Utilize infrastructure-as-code templates to rapidly compose, configure, and test the agentic system and its tools within the FBI’s designated cloud enclave or hardware footprint.

Deploy Generative AI & Foundation Models: Wrap agentic capabilities around the Bureau’s selected generative AI (genAI) foundation model to deliver a reliable, extensible, and scalable framework across multiple use-cases.

Engineer Advanced RAG Store Capabilities: Build and maintain modular, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)–enhanced capabilities, integrating authoritative repositories to guard against "AI slop" and enforce system guardrails.

Adopt, incorporate, and progressively enhance existing prototype logic into the Agentic Framework to support automated security control reviews, helping to optimize assessment pass rates for SCAs and ISSMs.

Implement and deliver fully operational engineering guidance tools to "shift security left," minimizing the risk of missing security features prior to the formal SAA process.

Configure authoring agents that enable cross-functional teams to develop cell-based, first-draft security control implementation statements derived from existing engineering documentation and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in computer science, business management, or IT related discipline.

Familiarity with the use, operation, and integration of generative AI engineering tools, vector databases, Python AI libraries, orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar agentic software platforms), and cloud-native infrastructure automation tools.

Minimum 15 years’ experience with 12 years’ cloud experience, or Master’s degree and 10 years’ cloud experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Hold at least one of the following certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional, AZ-300/301: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert. Google – Professional Cloud Architect.

Clearance Requirements:

US Citizenship is required.

Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret /SCI with Poly clearance.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer.
