Job Description

The Associate, Payroll is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll operations while ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company requirements. Working closely with other HR Functions and other stakeholders, the incumbent will provide payroll support, resolve employee queries, and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Process end-to-end monthly payroll accurately and on time, including payroll validation and reconciliation

Administer statutory claims, including Childcare Leave, National Service (NS), Government-Paid Maternity Leave (GPML), and other government reimbursement claims

Prepare and submit statutory filings, including CPF contributions, IR21, IR8A, Auto Inclusion Scheme (AIS), and other tax-related submissions in compliance with regulatory requirements

Ensure compliance with the Singapore Employment Act, CPF regulations, Income Tax requirements, and other applicable statutory obligations

Manage payroll-related accounting activities, including general ledger postings, reconciliations, and responding to Finance queries

Prepare monthly payroll reports, statutory reports, and ad hoc reports for management and business stakeholders

Respond promptly to employee payroll enquiries and provide advisory support on payroll-related matters

Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Finance and HR teams, to ensure smooth payroll operations

Support internal and external audits by preparing payroll documentation and responding to audit requests

Participate in payroll system enhancements, testing, and implementation of process improvements

Develop, review, and maintain payroll standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation

Maintain a strong understanding of HR policies and payroll processes to provide accurate guidance and ensure service excellence

Perform other payroll or HR-related duties as assigned to support business needs

Qualifications

Diploma or higher qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline

Minimum 3 years of hands-on payroll experience managing payroll for a workforce of at least 1,000 employees in Singapore

Strong knowledge of the Singapore Employment Act, CPF regulations, income tax requirements (IR8A, IR21, AIS), and other statutory payroll legislation

Experience in payroll reconciliation, general ledger processes, and statutory reporting

Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and other analytical functions) and Google Workspace

Meticulous, analytical, and able to handle confidential information with a high degree of integrity

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across all levels

Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight payroll deadlines

Preferred

Hands-on experience in SAP SuccessFactor Employee Central Payroll (ECP) Module

Experience participating in payroll system implementation, upgrades, or User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
