About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, People & Culture Operations, the Payroll & Reporting Officer is responsible for delivering accurate, timely and compliant end-to-end payroll services across the employee lifecycle.

Working as part of a supportive and high-performing team, you will play a key role in maintaining payroll integrity, resolving queries, and contributing to workforce reporting and process improvements that enhance efficiency and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing, including new starters, terminations, contract variations, leave, allowances, deductions, salary packaging, timesheets and superannuation.

Maintain accurate payroll and employee records, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.

Prepare and contribute to payroll and workforce reporting, providing meaningful insights to support operational and compliance requirements.

Respond to payroll enquiries and investigate discrepancies, resolving issues or escalating where required.

Administer WorkCover payments in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Ensure payroll activities comply with enterprise agreements, legislation, policies and procedures.

Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll processes, systems and reporting practices.

Work collaboratively across People & Culture and the broader organisation to deliver responsive, high-quality service.

About You

You are a detail-oriented and analytical payroll professional who takes price in accuracy and service. You enjoy working with data, solving problems, and improving processes, and you bring a collaborative and inclusive approach to your work.

You will demonstrate:

Experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a complex, public sector or regulated environment.

Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, superannuation, and enterprise agreements or awards.

Sound data literacy, with the ability to interpret payroll data and contribute to meaningful reporting.

High attention to detail, with strong numerical and analytical skills.

Proficiency in payroll (Chris21) and HR systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Clear and professional communication skills, with a strong customer service focus.

A collaborative mindset and commitment to inclusion and continuous improvement.

Experience working across multiple enterprise agreements or awards is advantageous.
