Job Location: Ideally, Flinders St Office, Adelaide SA, but other BAE Office locations throughout Australia will be considered. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, such as, flexibility and 9-day fortnight.

Role Description:

We have a great opportunity for a Tax Manager to join our Team. Reporting into our Head of Tax you will be working closely with them and our UK-based Group Tax team as a subject matter expert, providing technical advice and compliance expertise to all parts of the Australian BAE Systems business. Your expertise will play a key role, adding capability not found elsewhere in the Australian business.

Core Duties:

In conjunction with the Australian Head of Tax, maintain robust tax risk management and governance control over all tax related matters.

Deliver best-in-class tax business partnering, providing commercially focused advice on Australian and international tax matters across a range of taxes including, but not limited to, corporate income tax matters, individual and employment related tax matters, concessions, FBT and GST

Oversee all tax reporting and compliance aspects including tax return preparation, and support ATO review and assessments of tax compliance.

Drive process improvement and positively adopt and pursue increased use of tax technology, including generative AI tools and robotic process automation.

Provide support, guidance and training to other members of the tax team and the wider business.

Proactively monitor developments in the external legislative environment, assessing and communicating impact for BAE Systems.

Ad hoc Group Tax projects.

About You:

Degree qualification and completed CA, CPA or equivalent qualification.

Extensive experience working in a tax role in a large corporate environment or a tax consulting business.

Broad experience in Finance and Commercial areas.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience of adapting these styles to audiences at varying organisational levels.

Able to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management

Knowledge of Income Tax Legislation, GST, FBT, R&D and Accounting Standards

Technology experience and/or enthusiasm very welcome.

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances
