The Role

We are seeking an experienced AI & Data Architect to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-scale Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and Data Platform solutions.

This role is responsible for defining the enterprise AI and data architecture, establishing governance frameworks, and designing scalable, secure, and production-ready AI solutions. The successful candidate will bridge Data Architecture, AI Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Enterprise Architecture, ensuring AI capabilities are aligned with business strategy while remaining flexible and independent of any single technology vendor.

The environment includes AWS Bedrock, Snowflake Cortex, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), modern data platforms, and enterprise foundation models including Anthropic Claude.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, data engineers, AI engineers, security teams, and cloud architects to build enterprise AI capabilities that are secure, governed, scalable, and future-ready.

Key ResponsibilitiesAI & Enterprise Architecture

Define the enterprise AI strategy and target architecture.

Design scalable AI and data platforms supporting enterprise-wide AI adoption.

Develop AI reference architectures, standards, and architectural principles.

Ensure AI solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, governance, and business objectives.

Design vendor-agnostic AI architectures to avoid dependency on a single LLM or cloud provider.

Lead AI solution architecture reviews and technology selection.

Data Architecture

Design modern enterprise data architectures supporting AI and advanced analytics.

Develop enterprise semantic data models and knowledge architectures.

Design scalable data ingestion, transformation, and integration frameworks.

Define data governance, metadata management, master data management, and data quality standards.

Architect data lake, data warehouse, and lakehouse solutions.

Ensure enterprise data platforms support AI, analytics, and business intelligence.

AI Governance & Responsible AI

Define AI governance frameworks.

Establish AI safety guardrails and responsible AI policies.

Design evaluation frameworks for AI quality, hallucination detection, and model performance.

Define governance for prompt management, model lifecycle management, and AI observability.

Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, privacy, and enterprise governance requirements.

Cloud & Platform Architecture

Design cloud-native AI platforms on AWS and Snowflake.

Architect scalable, resilient, and secure AI workloads.

Define Infrastructure as Code and automation standards.

Design API-first architectures for AI services.

Support enterprise integration using event-driven and microservices architectures.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From 120,000 AUD per annum plus Superannuation.

Pay: From $120,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in North Sydney NSW 2060
