About the role
Vestas has various possible office locations in Central Europe for this position, with Hamburg being the preferred. We are looking for a motivated person to join our team for the German market for project deliveries, which will have a tremendous growth in the coming years.
Responsibilities:
Overall ownership of the project transport budget and the operation from worldwide origins up to site, being in close communication with internal and external stakeholders on transport status and optimization on a timely manner
Full coordination responsibility of deliveries to site including nominated transport providers and other relevant internal and external stakeholders, which requires effectively delivering solutions for changing situations to comply with the project schedule
Handle thoroughly the project transport spend and identify and develop cost optimizations
Assessing subcontractor performance, investigate transport quality issues and support problem-solving of deliveries
Assessment of road surveys and -modifications, storage areas etc. and developing transport strategies in close collaboration with other Vestas’s areas
Support in planning and coordinating the returns for Vestas owned transport equipment back to the relevant factories worldwide
Following Vestas processes and standards, including the correct usage of our Transport Management Systems, including close collaboration with our customs department to ensure the proper documentation is provided duly
Qualifications:
Education within the transport or supply chain management area, freight forwarding or similar with several years of related experience
Well-developed project management skills and understanding the spending control of projects
Ideally you have an operational, commercial or technical Freight Forwarding or Heavy Haulage trucking background. Over-sized/project experience to be preferred
Proficient in written and verbal English and German
Solid knowledge of ERP systems (preferable SAP) is beneficial as well as work experience in international corporations
Competencies:
Ability to catch details and focus on the relevant parts of the task
Pragmatic and solution oriented without letting safety aspects aside
Confident to take the initiative, bring your work forward, to draw and communicate conclusions
General understanding of technical transport drawings, lashing plans, stowage plans etc. and other relevant documentation
Preference to working in a fast-paced environment
Customer-focused, and ability to maneuver among various stakeholders, with good communication skills and understanding of different cultures
Team oriented, and international mindset and able to navigate within a complex global company structure
