About the role
The Role: Drilling Engineer - Client Representative - Onsite Supervision & QA/QC
As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Senior/Lead Drilling Engineer. Your mission is to provide day-to-day field oversight of the shipyard's drilling equipment installation and testing work - BOP stacks, draw works, mud systems, and well control equipment, ensuring it is executed safely, to specification, and on schedule.
Conduct day-to-day field engineering, drilling equipment installation inspection, and progress tracking.
Monitor well control equipment testing logs, BOP function and pressure test certifications, and contractor routine operations.
Witness equipment testing and factory/site acceptance activities, verify the closeout of punch lists, and ensure all site modifications match approved "as-built" procedures.
Report daily progress and any technical concerns to the Senior/Lead Drilling Engineer.
Enforce contractor adherence to the technical specifications laid out in the project contract.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Working knowledge of drilling systems (BOP stacks, top drives, draw works, mud systems, choke/kill manifolds).
Familiarity with API RP 53/59/96 well control standards is an advantage.
Minimum 4–7 years of experience in offshore/marine construction or fabrication.
PMT / Client Representative experience preferred but not essential.
With the assertiveness to hold contractors accountable on behalf of the client.
