About the role

DC Power Engineer – Ireland

Location: Ireland based (80–90% Dublin, 10–20% wider Ireland travel)

Schedule: Full time, field based role

Who are we?

At Vertiv, we're on a mission to power the people and technologies that keep the world connected. From data centres to telecom networks and industrial facilities, our solutions ensure that critical systems stay online, no matter what.

With over $6.9 billion in revenue and operations spanning nearly 70 countries, Vertiv offers the stability of a global leader and the excitement of a fast evolving industry.

About the Role

Vertiv is hiring a DC Power Engineer to join our Ireland Field Service team. This is a hands on, field based role where you'll carry out planned maintenance, installations, and commissioning of 48v DC Power systems across customers in the Dublin area and beyond.

This is a great entry point into the world of critical power. You don't need years of experience or a wall full of qualifications. What matters most is your attitude, your willingness to learn, and your ability to work well with others. We'll provide all the training you need, including time in the UK with our experienced DC team.

It's a physical role. You'll be lifting battery blocks, working in live environments, and spending most of your time out on customer sites rather than behind a desk.

What You'll Be Doing

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on Vertiv/Emerson 48v DC Power systems across multiple customers.

Assisting with and eventually leading new 48v DC installations and commissioning.

Once trained on 380v HVDC systems, carrying out maintenance and support across multiple customer premises.

Assisting with battery builds, replacements, and testing.

Resolving technical issues remotely or on site.

Completing all post work paperwork and documentation.

Supporting mobile data centre maintenance and callouts when required.

What We're Looking For

A positive attitude and genuine willingness to learn

Team player who gets on well with people

Self motivated and capable of working independently once trained

Excellent organisational and time management skills

Comfortable with a physical, hands on role

Full driving licence

Any electrical knowledge or background is a bonus, but not essential

Previous experience with 48v DC or low power UPS is an advantage

18th Edition electrical qualification is desirable but not required

Who You'll Work With

You'll be part of the DC Power department, working closely with the battery team, the scheduling team, technical support, and directly with contracted customers. You'll have a supportive team around you and access to structured training from day one.

What's In It For You

A clear career pathway into the wider UPS and critical power world

Competitive salary

Company vehicle and fuel card

All travel time / expenses covered

Overtime and out-of-hours work available

Health insurance and life assurance

25 days annual leave plus 10 bank holidays

Sick pay

Laptop and mobile phone for business use

Full training provided (including time in the UK with our wider DC team)

The opportunity to build a long term career in one of the fastest growing industries in the world
