We are seeking an experienced Technical Specialist with strong hands‑on expertise across enterprise technologies. The successful candidate will work on‑site and provide high‑quality technical guidance, troubleshooting, and operational support to one of our key clients. This role requires deep technical knowledge, strong problem‑solving abilities, and the capability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Application Sustainment Engineer/Technician to support, maintain, and enhance a portfolio of mission critical Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications and legacy applications in a complex distributed environment. This role is responsible for ensuring application availability, resolving incidents related to application stack, co-ordinating with infrastructure teams, and driving continuous improvement across the application stack. The candidate is also expected to complete maintenance activities for the application layer and maintain the required documentations.

Please note a minimum NV1 security clearance is a requirement for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Level 2 / Level 3 support for enterprise applications

Automate and streamline operations using PowerShell for routine tasks, configuration checks, deployments, and run books.

Monitor and maintain the performance, availability, and reliability of COTS applications in high secure production environments

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application incidents and service requests within SLA timelines

Maintain accurate updates in ITSM tools (e.g., PBM tickets, trackers) with qualitative details

Proactively identify improvement opportunities and incident management

Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to reduce recurring issues

Support and maintain Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and related identity authentication workflows

Troubleshoot & coordinate applications issues hosted on Windows Server environments (2012 through 2025)

Support application deployments, configuration changes, patches, and upgrades and post change related activities

Manage and support integrations

Maintain applications deployed in Microsoft Dynamics 365 ecosystem

Provide vulnerability management and mitigation across the application stack, including patching, configuration hardening, and remediation activities

Collaborate with external infrastructure teams, vendors, and business stakeholders for issue resolution, maintenance activities, Application-level testing, DR Drills and co-ordination for other activities

Ensure that system documentation, knowledge articles, and operational run books for all sustained applications is kept up to date following any activities that involve changes to the application and is reviewed annually.

Track and monitor recurring or large-scale incidents, providing regular status updates, impact analysis, and coordinated reporting to stakeholders

Contribute to weekly reporting, dashboards, and operational reviews

Develop strategic plans for improving application’s security posture, reliability, vulnerability mitigation, life cycle management (EOL).

Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement

Participate in on-call rotations and high priority, major incident support as required

Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, and ensure compliance with frameworks like DSPF, ISM, essential 8 maturity level 2 and other industry best practices

Complete organization mandated and customer trainings

Experience and Qualifications:

Experience with Enterprise Content Management platforms (e.g. OpenText or similar)

Experience supporting SharePoint-based solutions, including both out-of-the-box and custom applications

Experienced in working for Defence or other high security organizations

Strong experience with COTS application support and sustainment

Strong experience is supporting Microsoft application stack

Hands-on experience with incident, problem, and change management (ITIL framework)

Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy, or HP service manager) is preferred

Hands-on experience with Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) , including configuration and troubleshooting

Strong troubleshooting skills across application and infrastructure layers

Solid experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows Server (2012–2025) environments

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 application administration and support. Knowledge on plug ins, classic workflows, JavaScript extensions to forms, web API is mandatory.

Experience in Programming knowledge like C#, .NET platform is essential

Experience in web programming skills like HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Typescript, React and SPFx and experience with web debugging

Basic knowledge of Azure Functions, message brokers / messaging systems and cloud-integrated application components

Knowledge of IIS , Apache Tomcat administration and troubleshooting

Experience with or exposure to OpenText xECM (Extended ECM) is highly desirable

Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools. Familiarity with Dynatrace, Nagios, Selenium, Splunk or similar application performance monitoring tools is advantageous

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Scripting or automation (using PowerShell or similar) is advantageous

Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

Analytical thinking with a proactive problem-solving mindset

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams

Effective time management and prioritization skills

Ability to manage prioritisation (P1–P4 tickets) and escalation effectively
