The opportunity

Technical Business Analyst – Infrastructure & Asset Management

Melbourne / Geelong

We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support an infrastructure and asset management transformation program. Working across infrastructure, architecture, ServiceNow, and governance teams, you will translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate workshops with infrastructure teams, architects, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Analyse Linux/RHEL environments, including server upgrades, rebuilds, VM provisioning, and lifecycle management.

Assess server inventories to identify consolidation and decommissioning opportunities.

Gather requirements for ServiceNow HAM Pro, Contracts Management, CMDB, and asset lifecycle processes.

Review Discovery outputs, CMDB data quality, and licensing information to provide improvement recommendations.

Define compensating controls for legacy systems that cannot be upgraded.

Produce governance artefacts, options papers, process maps, requirements documentation, and stakeholder packs.

Support service transition, operational readiness, and BAU handover activities.

Requirements and process documentation

HAM Pro and Contracts module requirements packs

High-level architecture and options papers

CMDB data model and licensing assessment

Discovery review findings and remediation recommendations

Compensating controls framework

Asset lifecycle and EOS/EOL tracking framework

Service transition and handover documentation

RAID logs, governance reports, and stakeholder communications

About You

Proven experience as a Technical BA delivering infrastructure, ITSM, ServiceNow, or asset management initiatives.

Strong understanding of Linux/RHEL server environments and infrastructure lifecycle management.

Experience with CMDB, Discovery, Asset Management, or ServiceNow platforms.

Ability to work effectively with architects, engineers, operational teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.

Strong skills in requirements gathering, process mapping, data analysis, and governance reporting.

Experience within Government, Insurance, Health, Disability, or other regulated environments is highly regarded.

Knowledge of data governance, retention policies, and information lifecycle management.
