Position Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, analysis, and delivery of a diverse range of construction and infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities
- Analyse structural systems for both static and dynamic loading conditions, ensuring all designs meet relevant Australian standards and codes of practice - Determine appropriate construction methods, materials, and quality standards, and develop detailed specifications, drawings, and construction procedures to guide project delivery - Design structures across a range of typologies to ensure they perform safely and do not, deflect excessively, or behave in any undesirable manner under load - Prepare and review engineering drawings, reports, and documentation in support of development approvals, construction certificates, and project handover - Conduct site inspections and supervise construction activities to verify works are being carried out in accordance with approved designs and specifications - Assess and evaluate the behaviour and durability of construction materials, recommending suitable options based on project requirements and site conditions - Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop integrated structural solutions from concept through to completion - Identify and manage structural risks throughout the project lifecycle, providing practical engineering solutions to resolve design and construction challenges - Prepare and review structural calculations, geotechnical reports, and material testing data to inform and validate design decisions - Contribute to the mentoring and technical development of graduate and junior engineers within the team - Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline - Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the relevant Australian state or territory - Demonstrated experience in structural engineering design across commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects - Proficiency in structural analysis and modelling software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SPACE GASS, Strand7, or similar - Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC) - Strong ability to prepare, interpret, and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports - Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver practical and innovative structural solutions - Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams - Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously - Full working rights in Australia
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership with Engineers Australia (MIEAust) or Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status, or working towards chartership - Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) platforms such as Revit Structure - Familiarity with sustainable design principles and experience delivering projects with a focus on environmental performance - Postgraduate qualifications or specialist training in structural or geotechnical engineering - Experience working on mixed-use, high-rise, or large-scale infrastructure projects - Exposure to project management frameworks and familiarity with construction contract administration
