Technical Lead (AI Uplift)

NTT Data are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join an AI uplift program of work for a leading client in the mining space.

Initial 3 month contract with extensions in place

Perth CBD location – 4 days per week onsite

This is a hands-on Technical Lead role where you will lead the design, delivery and operation of production-grade AI platforms and Generative AI solutions in an on-premise enterprise environment. You will work closely with architecture, engineering, security and business stakeholders to deliver secure, governed and scalable AI capabilities while providing technical leadership across AI, platform and DevOps teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation and operationalisation of enterprise AI and Generative AI solutions

Provide technical leadership across AI, platform engineering and DevOps teams

Architect and deliver secure, scalable and well-governed on-prem AI platforms

Define and implement AI guardrails, governance frameworks and responsible AI controls

Establish monitoring, observability and operational support models for AI platforms

Lead CI/CD implementation for AI and ML model deployment pipelines

Drive AI platform reliability, performance optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Provide technical mentoring and guidance to engineers across AI and platform disciplines

Ensure solutions are production-ready, documented and aligned to security and compliance requirements

Key Requirements

Strong hands-on experience with OpenAI, Grok and Anthropic APIs

Proven experience implementing AI governance and guardrails, including Portkey

Deep expertise with Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring, observability and operational support

Strong experience with Docker, Portainer and Ubuntu in enterprise production environments

Demonstrated experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for AI and ML models

Experience building AI applications using LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, PyTorch and/or TensorFlow

Experience with AI safety and policy enforcement tools including NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails, Llama Guard, Azure AI Content Safety or similar

Strong understanding of MLOps/LLMOps practices and tooling including MLflow, Kubeflow, Azure ML, SageMaker or equivalent platforms

Experience with AI monitoring and evaluation tools such as ELK, LangSmith, Weights & Biases or Arize AI

Strong knowledge of Responsible AI principles, governance frameworks and model risk controls

Proven experience delivering production-grade, enterprise-scale AI solutions in agile environments

Strong stakeholder engagement, technical leadership, problem-solving and communication skills
