Role Description:

This role is for a Azure DevOps engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements analysis and system design.

Download and install SQL Server service packs and updates.

Configure and maintain SQL Security controls

A deep understanding of CI/CD tools and a strong desire to help teams release frequently to production with a focus on creating reliable high-quality results.

Expertise in DevOps, DevSecOps and emergent experience with DataSecOps and Data Governance practices - deep experience with managing and scaling container-based infrastructure-as-code technologies from the CNCF and related orbits

Make recommendations for system architecture per Microsoft SQL Server best practices

Manage database backup and recovery, as well as disaster recovery planning, in coordination with the IT manager and System Engineer

Create, change, and improve SQL Server Agent tasks and maintenance plans

Proactively monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed processes, and address issues as soon as possible

Troubleshoot application sluggishness and poor performance

In charge of database migrations and server updates

Create documentation and training for routine database administration activities, as well as train server operations employees on them

Integrate SQL Server with corporate applications

Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.

Production support as needed.

End to end understanding of software architecture, design, development and implementation.

Continuous integration and build process, test automation and deployment.

Primary Skills (Must Have):

Strong Practical experience using Scrum, Agile modelling and adaptive software development.

Proven problem solving, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills

Extensive knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data analysis.

Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

6+ years of Azure Cloud DevOps experience.

T-SQL (Transact-SQL) Programming Perform any extra responsibilities that are allocated to you

Write stored procedures and T-SQL scripts.

Experience in working on various MS SQL Database versions 2016,2017, 2019, 2022

Experience in applying SQL Server service packs and database upgrades on same server and new server.

Experience in Database performance tuning and troubleshooting users and application related issues

Experience in continuous process improvement and automation using PowerShell

Experience in HA solutions like Always ON setup and maintenance, Log shipping, Database mirroring and replication

Experience in SQL Server cluster

Experience in Upgrade, Patching and migration to On Prem and Cloud

Experience in Database security and encryption setup using TDE and masking

Manage database backup and recovery, as well as disaster recovery planning

Create, change, and improve SQL Server Agent tasks and maintenance plans.

Proactively monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed processes, and address issues as soon as possible.

Providing database support for development and deployment of database scripts in Development, Test, Pre-Production and Production environments

Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users

Excellent English communications skills (written and verbal)

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

Certification on Azure and AWS

In charge of big data ETL into SQL Server, as well as authoring and modifying SQL Server Reporting Services reports

Ability to multi-task, meet aggressive timelines and have strong work ethics.

Experience of working in the financial industry

Qualification:

Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree level qualification in a computer science.
