Principal Project Officer

The Principal Project Officer role supports the Healthcare Improvement Unit in leading the development, implementation and evaluation of local and system-wide innovative models of care, patient flow frameworks and service enhancement initiatives aimed at improving the quality and value of clinical services in accordance with the strategic direction of the Department.

What you'll do

As the Principal Project Officer, you will lead and manage the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of healthcare improvement initiatives within a complex clinical and operational environment, driving projects that enhance healthcare service delivery across Queensland. You will provide expert advice and support to senior executives on emerging issues and priorities, while building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders ranging from frontline clinicians to executive leaders and government representatives. Utilising your highly developed consultation, negotiation and influencing skills, you will work across multidisciplinary teams to achieve the strategic goals of the Healthcare Improvement Unit, contribute to key priorities and initiatives, and undertake additional project and operational responsibilities as required to support the unit's objectives.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

Highly effective interpersonal and high-level strategic written communication skills, including proven ability to engage and influence multiple stakeholders and cultivate productive working relationships and networks.

A proven track record of leading projects / initiatives that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare service delivery.

Demonstrated advanced project management skills, including the ability to establish robust governance structures, define tasks, set priorities and coordinate activities effectively to meet deadlines, with a track record of proven and sustained outcomes.

Demonstrated advanced knowledge and application of process improvement, implementation and evaluation methodologies within the healthcare sector.

Demonstrated advanced knowledge and application of process improvement, implementation and evaluation methodologies within the healthcare sector.

Demonstrated experience in applying change management methodologies to complex cultural and practice change issues in the health sector.
