About the role
We are currently seeking for our Headquarter in Hamburg a highly motivated and dedicated
Junior Group Business Controller (all genders)
Full-time and permanent
Responsibilities:
Support the preparation and analysis of KPIs for enabling functions, contributing to monthly reporting packages that help stakeholders understand performance drivers.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, including data collection, consolidation, and variance analysis.
Work closely with senior finance team members to provide financial inputs for decision support, helping turn numbers into meaningful business insights.
Collaborate with functional stakeholders (SG&A, IT, R&D, etc.) to understand financial needs and ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including cost center reviews and initiating corrective journal entries.
Help maintain key internal controls, including those related to SOX compliance and documentation of financial processes.
Support the development of reports and dashboards using tools like Excel and Power BI, contributing to more efficient, data-driven reporting.
Participate in improvement projects, such as process standardization or reporting automation, gaining exposure to best practices in global finance.
Required qualifications:
University degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
Initial professional working experience in a similar role, ideally within life sciences / pharmaceutical sector, and/or within a public/global company
Experience of working in an international environment
Experience in a Group Business Controlling Environment
Business fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Further ideal qualifications:
Experience with PCAOB and Sarbanes Oxley a plus
Experience working in a Big 4 audit firm / Consulting
Advanced IFRS knowledge
German a plus
