About the role
Job Purpose:
The Senior Financial Analyst, Americas Program Accounting supports accurate claims accounting and financial reporting through month-end close, data analysis, and reconciliation activities. This role analyzes claims and financial data, prepares and reviews reconciliations, researches variances, and partners with business stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, and monthly reporting
Research, analyze, and resolve accounting variances related to claims data, subscriber fees, receivables, settlements, loss activity, and balance sheet accounts
Create, maintain, and enhance reporting tools, dashboards, queries, and transaction-level reports used to monitor claims activity, settlement activity, reconciliations, and financial results
Leverage data visualization and database management tools to extract, analyze, and validate large and complex datasets, ensuring completeness and accuracy of claims accounting activity
Prepare clear and concise explanations of financial results, risks, trends, and recommended actions for management and business partners
Partner cross-functionally to identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies, improve data integrity, and support accurate transaction processing
Support new program launches, contract changes, and system updates by reviewing requirements, validating accounting impacts, supporting UAT, and confirming accurate transaction processing and reporting
Serve as a subject matter resource for claims, helping others understand claim flows, accounting treatment, reporting logic, fee application, reconciliations, and related processes
Support system configuration maintenance related to revenue, receivables, settlements, logistics fees and other factors that impact claims accounting and reporting
Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities, leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reduce manual effort
Complete ad hoc analysis, reporting, and special projects, for management and stakeholders as needed
Maintain and enhance documentation of key internal controls, accounting processes, procedures, and reporting requirements
Provide support to internal and external auditors by responding to documentation requests and inquiries timely
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Proven track record of academic and professional excellence
3 to 6 years of related professional experience
Experience working with large datasets, data analysis, and reconciliations preferred
Experience in a high-growth, technology, or subscription-based business model is preferred
CPA or progress toward certification is a plus
Technical Skills:
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, large data manipulation)
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, SAP) preferred
Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) or database management tools (SQL, DBeaver) is a plus
