About the Role
We are seeking an Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, reporting, and accounting operations. In this role, you will support the preparation of financial statements, regulatory filings, reconciliations, and management reporting while partnering with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
This position is ideal for an analytical and detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys solving complex problems, investigating discrepancies, and contributing to process improvements. You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of accounting functions while supporting business, finance, and actuarial teams.
What You'll Do
Prepare and analyze financial statements, accounting records, and management reports for assigned business units or companies
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Perform bank account and general ledger reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions
Research accounting issues, investigate errors, and provide recommendations for resolution
Review, test, and validate accounting impacts associated with system changes and enhancements
Prepare balance sheet and operating results analyses, including variance and deviation reporting
Support business units, finance partners, and actuarial teams with financial and accounting-related requests
Assist in the preparation of state and regulatory filings and related documentation
Develop supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external reporting requirements
Participate in special projects, process improvements, and other accounting initiatives as assigned
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting procedures, and documentation requirements
Requirements
2+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred
Ability to work with large datasets, reconciliations, and financial reporting tools
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices
Highly analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to research issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Familiarity with internal controls, reconciliations, and audit requirements
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
