About the role

Do you consider yourself a change agent? Is risk management your forte?

This role will involve analyzing the rating information, assessing the group’s specific risk characteristics as well as delivering clear, accurate and complete quotes to our Manulife Account Executives.

The main responsibilities of this role include:

Responsibilities:

Analyze group characteristics, benefits, and plan designs

Analyze premium and claims information in order to appropriately price new business

Provide underwriting decisions through clear verbal and written communications

Conduct constructive negotiations utilizing underwriting judgment and guidelines

Evaluate and act on risk propositions;

Accurately price new and existing business opportunities;

Provide value added underwriting and benefit recommendations to maximize the clients' group benefit spend

Manulife's Group Benefits business is a leading provider of employee group benefits for the small and Mid Market segments . With more than 24,000 Plan Sponsors, the organization offers a range of comprehensive benefit plans including health and dental care, disability, group life insurance, and accidental death coverage.

Qualifications:

Post Secondary education with business, mathematical and analytical aptitude.

Understanding of the Group Insurance market, products and services

Experience within Group Benefits

Proven ability to effectively partner with and support sales teams.

Excellent Microsoft Office skills with exceptional proficiency in Excel (data manipulation such as pivot tables) and Word

CEBS, GBA certification is encouraged and recommended.

Ability to make well-balanced decisions that take effective risk management, financial discipline and customer needs into account.

Motivated self-starter and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple priorities.

Salary range is expected to be between

$51,975.00 CAD - $86,625.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
